Empire Actress on White House Livestream: Calling Black Women “Strong” Is Dehumanizing

Former Empire actress Taraji P. Henson remarked in a White House "Mental Health and Wellness in the Black Community" livestream that referring to her as "strong" invalidated her feelings because black people and black women specifically have been at the "bottom of the totem pole" and have had to tell themselves they were strong because "some kind of armor" was needed.
