An understanding of your subject.

Yesterday in my post on responses I talked about first giving a number. This will help you stay on track and give a strong appearance that you know what you are talking about. To elaborate, take a second to think about where you are in your process and respond with, “We have these two steps left”, or something similar. If asked, “How is the budget prep coming?” you can respond with, “I have three steps left to complete the budget.” This works when you have an understanding of your subject. If you are unsure about what you are being asked, it is better to say, “I’ll get back with you.” I hope this helps. Have a great day.
