It's Your Birthday!

The Mayor asked us to put something together for his special friend's birthday which happens to be today. Maybe it's your birthday too today. Either way, Happy Birthday! That makes you a fire sign - Sagittarius.

So, we searched and found all kinds of interesting songs to put together that scream "birthday" in one form or another from singing cats to full philharmonic orchestras into two Beatles songs which actually make up the segue part of today's Segue City Special.

We really wanted to use the actual Beatle songs since it makes for a killer segue but you know they weren't going to allow that on this pop stand of social media so we had to go with two copy bands trying to fill in. It's not the same, but it's close enough for what passes for government these days... this all continues our policy of hiding in plain sight...

Segue City will be a recurring short-form programming element of "The Big Kahuna" - one of GET's developmental Internet Radio formats created by Dain Schult. It will also be expanded as a part of that format and finally evolve into a full, long-form programming element on its own. It’s all a part of GET’s radio division – American Internet & Radio (“AIR”).

The feature will be available for integration into other AIR Classic Rock terrestrial stations in the future as well. It revives the art of mixing two songs together in a seamless pattern where it is tough to tell where the first song ended and the second one began. Sometimes the segues may also revolve around thematic ideas like matching or similar song titles. We'll try anything because no two Segue City Specials will ever be exactly the same...
