SpaceX, Rocket Boosters, Sonic Boom Oh My

On Monday January 31, 2022 Prestin and I were riding bikes when a SpaceX rocket lifted off. Now understand that I lived in Florida for almost 20 years now and I’ve seen many, many, many rocket launches and even the shuttle launches when that was a thing. And in my humble opinion nothing is better than a shuttle launch or landing. Those were the best. And then I would say the Delta 4 Heavy rockets are tied for second with the SpaceX Falcon rocket launches. I say this because of the boosters and what SpaceX does with them. In case you didn’t know, SpaceX “flies” the boosters back down to the ocean and lands them on a pad floating nearby. In comparison, the others companies let their boasters splash down in the ocean and then retrieve them.
In all of my time watching the SpaceX rockets, I’ve never seen one like this. Again, I shot this video on my iPhone when riding bikes with my son. But it was the most clear shot I’ve ever seen with the entire launch. From liftoff to landing to the sonic boom, it was one of the best I’ve experienced in 20 years of watching these things.
I hope you enjoy the video as much as I did. Thanks for watching.
