The Rubber Spider may look like a simple little fly and on the surface you might think it doesn't have much going for it but you would be very mistaken. The simple Rubber Spider is a fantastic fly in (almost) all waters that have fish. Around the Midwest it is a staple for panfish. Cast one of these on any pond, lake or stream here in warmwater country and you will be catching fish. It is also a great terrestrial fly for trout. Don't let the simplicity of this fly lead you to think it is limited in where it can be fished. The Rubber Spider is a fun, basic fly that can be just what is needed on may a warm summer evening!
