New Year's Steelhead! First fish of 2022!

Fishing a Great Lakes tributary for migratory steelhead rainbow trout on New Years Day, 2022. It was a very difficult day of fishing but my friend Ben and I each managed one decent fish. I also caught a little smolt (baby steelhead stocked into the stream).

Benji's steelhead was landed on a fly, my steelhead was landed on a plug. The smolt was caught on home-cured egg sacks from a stocked domestic rainbow trout.

Fishing with flies, floats, and plugs on a fly-rod, a spinning-rod, and a center-pin.
