Day 3, 07: Israel History Lesson on the bus to the Syrian Border

Our guide (Moshe) gave us an Israeli history lesson while riding through the countryside on our way to edge of the Syrian Border. We were able to get out at the Ronen overlook and view the entire area, including the United Nations (UN) Compound on the border, and the destroyed Syrian city of Kuneitra. This spot looks out across the area that was the scene of several battles in modern history... the most recent in 2014 was a 3-way battle between The Islamic State (ISIS), Nusra Front, and Syrian Army.

This video really gives a sense of how close Israel is to those who would do her harm. We in America see these places in the news, but when you see it with your own eyes, reality really strikes home.
