I Can See Clearly That It's My Life

Jimmy Cliff takes on "I Can See Clearly Now" to start today's Segue City Special and then runs head on into a live version of Billy Joel's "My Life" which is a personal favorite of the Mayor and has been since when the song first was released in 1978 which dates him but not us...

We think it's more of a case of "What you think of me is none of my business"... which we think is a good way to go through life in not getting bogged down or hurt by what someone may be saying about you or thinking about you. What does that matter anyway? It's what you think of yourself that matters. The world would be a better place right now if everyone stopped being judgmental of everybody else... ah, but will they?

Segue City will be a recurring short-form programming element of "The Big Kahuna" - one of GET's developmental Internet Radio formats created by Dain Schult. It will also be expanded as a part of that format and finally evolve into a full, long-form programming element on its own. It’s all a part of GET’s radio division – American Internet & Radio (“AIR”).

The feature will be available for integration into other AIR Classic Rock terrestrial stations in the future as well. It revives the art of mixing two songs together in a seamless pattern where it is tough to tell where the first song ended and the second one began. Sometimes the segues may also revolve around thematic ideas like matching or similar song titles. We'll try anything because no two Segue City Specials will ever be exactly the same...

At least that’s the idea… your mileage may vary, check with your dealer; so, you don’t forget order before midnight; operators standing by for your important call; Our talent is on loan from God. We just pray He'll let us finish another segue for tomorrow... if you liked today's segue, our Mayor is known as the Silver Haired Man of Rock n' Roll. At least that’s the idea… your mileage may vary, check with your dealer; so, you don’t forget order before midnight; operators standing by for your important call; offer void where prohibited by law and that normally means it's legal everywhere but in New Mexico... is that gun really loaded or not? Why does everybody there hate each other? Must be a state requirement or something...

This feature is a three-time winner of the Thomas J. Duke Memorial Music Segue and BBQ Cook-Off Award.
