I Ain't Much But I've Been Hurt

Today we go with Myrtle Beach Beach Music first with Bill Deal and the Rhondels with their "I've Been Hurt" which is a "shout and response" number into the Atlanta Rhythm Section's "I Ain't Much But I'm Yours" to make today's Segue City Special. Say the phrase "Beach Music" and invariably people think of the Beach Boys which is simply West Coast surfing music but that isn't at all like this.

Myrtle Beach style Beach Music is shagging music with more of a RnB feel to it that is unique to the Southern part of the East coast and far more extensive. It's the Band of Oz, the Tams, the Fantastic Shakers, General Johnson and the Chairmen of the Board, the Catalinas, the Clovers, the Showmen... you know, artists like that...

Segue City will be a recurring short-form programming element of "The Big Kahuna" - one of GET's developmental Internet Radio formats created by Dain Schult. It’s all a part of GET’s radio division – American Internet & Radio (“AIR”).

It revives the art of mixing two songs together in a seamless pattern where it is tough to tell where the first song ended and the second one began. Sometimes the segues may also revolve around thematic ideas like matching or similar song titles. Other times there's hidden meanings and Easter Eggs in the mix as well. We'll try anything because no two Segue City Specials will ever be exactly the same...

At least that’s the idea… your mileage may vary, check with your dealer; so, you don’t forget order before midnight; operators standing by for your important call; Our talent is on loan from God. We just pray He'll let us finish another segue for tomorrow... if you liked today's segue, our Mayor is known as the Silver Haired Man of Rock n' Roll. This offer is void where prohibited by law and that normally means it's legal everywhere but in New Mexico... is that gun really loaded or not? A sad New Mexican once prayed, "I wish it would rain — not so much for me, cuz I've seen it, but for my 7-year-old."

This feature is a three-time winner of the Thomas J. Duke Memorial Music Segue and BBQ Cook-Off Award.
