Hit Me, Beat Me

We kick off the week with Ian Drury and the Blockheads with their "Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick" which begs for the segue into Commander Cody and His Lost Planet Airmen's version of the old boogie-woogie song, "Beat Me Daddy Eight To The Bar" showing that you can put songs like these together and it doesn't mean it was SBDM or somebody was on their knees or anything else but two long titles running together... so it's just our attempt to bring mirth and merriment to a Monday where winter is really sucky all across the country...

Segue City will be a recurring short-form programming element of "The Big Kahuna" - one of GET's developmental Internet Radio formats created by Dain Schult. It’s all a part of GET’s radio division – American Internet & Radio (“AIR”).

It revives the art of mixing two songs together in a seamless pattern where it is tough to tell where the first song ended and the second one began. Sometimes the segues may also revolve around thematic ideas like matching or similar song titles. Other times there's hidden meanings and Easter Eggs in the mix as well. We'll try anything because no two Segue City Specials will ever be exactly the same...
