Herbert Welch created the Black Ghost for fishing in Maine's Rangley region in pursuit of Brook Trout and Landlocked Salmon. The Black Ghost Marabou is a variation of the original fly that utilizes Marabou for the wing. It has become a popular fly for chasing various trout species as well as warmwater Bass. The fly is not difficult to tie and a great beginner fly for those wanting to start tying this style of streamer.
