The 15 cm schwere Feldhaubitze 18 or sFH 18 was the basic German division-level
heavy howitzer of 149mm during WWII.

Development on the sFH 18 began in 1926 to replace the earlier, WWI era 15 cm sFH 13,
The carriage was a relatively standard split-trail design with box legs.
Spades were carried on the sides of the legs that could be mounted onto the ends for added stability.

Production of the sFH would start in 1933 and would see it's first action in the
Second Sino-Japanese War with the CNRA and later with the Germany army in the start
of WWII.

This 150mm at the Hochfels Viewing Point at the town of Boulaide,
was probably sabotaged by it's own crew and abandoned, during the Battle of the Bulge, the gun was stuck in recoil position for several years, until it was restored.

There is also a Pak 43, next to this SFH18. A few years ago metal scrappers stole several
parts of these guns, and even sawed off the Pak43's muzzle brake.
