Position of Thrust block, Why thrust block, First I want to describe you the name of the engine which is used for more power and also more efficiency then the answer is marine engine. Then in marine engine as it gives more power then the size may be big and propeller is also there and we also know propeller rotates. Chances of crankshaft to be broken or damaged is there due to vibration mostly due to big size and propeller rotation. The crankshaft gets protected from breakage due to thrust block. The thrust block is there after the marine IC engine it takes the vibration from the propeller and distribute to the hull of ship before it gets transmitted to the engine. We protect the crankshaft in this manner from the vibration of the crankshaft.
