Justin Trudeau‘s suppression of the truckers' peaceful protest is drawing international criticism. A former Indian ambassador criticized him for refusing to meet with protesters. And people protesting on Parliament Hill said they are not leaving. Trudeau owes them a dialogue as the leader of the country.

Following Australia & the UK, Finland announced that it would lift restrictions soon. The Norwegian government and France are also lifting a number of COVID measures. Moreover, the Italian prime minister indicated he would announce a schedule to open up the country. Sweden & Switzerland joined the list of European countries. American experts are also calling for the removal of COVID restrictions. Some Democratic states are even starting to ease up on their COVID measures.

The Democratic Party currently relies on one vote from Kamala Harris as speaker of the Senate to maintain a majority, creating a situation where not a single vote can go astray. If any one Democratic senator is out of step with the party the Democrats could lose control of the Senate at any time.
