Why do many preachers keep quoting 1 Peter 5:8, "Be vigilant, you adversary the devil roams about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour"? The reason we keep quoting this bible verse is because we are in a spiritual war. We are in a battle over our souls, eternity, and heaven. We don't want you to let your guard down and end up spiritually defeated.

Heaven belongs to the spiritually vigilant. That is the way of Christianity. The Christians in heaven practiced vigilance while on earth.
