I keep refining and redoing and rethinking my strategy for the Appalachian trail. I decided that I want to get at least 20,000 steps a day in without the bag and then I'll add the bag again later. I figure having to hike through the deep snow and slushy material is equivalent to hiking in good weather with a bag on.
