The Beatles, Del Shannon, Bob Dylan, REM, John Bonham and Robert Plant, Bob Wooler, Cavern Club and soul singer Sam Smith are some of the people that happened on this day in rock and roll history.
- Bob Wooler died from a heart attack while he was watching a wrestling match on TV. Wooler had been the DJ and MC of shows at The Cavern Club in Liverpool where The Beatles had played early in their career. He had also managed Liverpool's top wrestlers.
