Vitamin D Significance

People who live at 37 degrees latitude and higher cannot make Vitamin D from the sunlight from November through March. The Twin Cities’ latitude is 46 degrees, so for us that time is even less. We can only make Vitamin D from the sun from late April – late August.

42% of people in the US have Vitamin D deficiency. The more melanin present in your skin means that you are less able to absorb sunshine. Therefore, 82% of Blacks and 69% of Hispanics are Vitamin D deficient.

Maintaining proper levels of Vitamin D can help support cardiovascular function, healthy mood and stress levels, bone and skin tissues – and immune function!

But without K2, D3 can cause serious illness! Vitamin D3 helps you transport calcium in your body but without Vitamin K2 it will be left in your blood stream and soft tissues - eventually causing disease. You need both D3+K2.

Conventional medical practitioners often recommend dosages of 2,000-4,000 IU’s. But functional medicine and naturopath practitioners recommend levels of at least 10,000 IU. To learn more about dosages check out this video by Dr. Eric Berg. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NFxQJmvgXOQ

NutriDyn Vitamin D3 5000 with K2 contains 5000 IU of vitamin D with the addition of K2 to mobilize calcium and keep it from going in the wrong place. Vitamin K2 is a crucial micronutrient for supporting the cardiovascular system and bone health.
