[PART 1 of 3] Wait! "Lower Decks" DOESN'T suck!? It's true! And that comes from the mouth of an old school Trekkie known online as Moonjumper. Indeed, Moonjumper is one of a handful of pre-TNG Trekkies whose very first exposure to any form of Star Trek was as a little boy in the early 1970's, watching Filmation's "Star Trek (The Animated Series)," on Saturday mornings on NBC. From there, Moonjumper became a fanatical addict of "The Original Series"--and the rest is history.

Now, for the first time in 47 years, a second animated series set in the Star Trek universe has premiered on CBS All Access. In Part 1 of his detailed half-season analysis of "Star Trek: Lower Decks," Moonjumper examines how this animated comedy fits into Star Trek's overall continuity and canon--oh, and begs you...please, don't watch "Star Trek: Lower Decks" on your cellphone! Otherwise, you will miss a plethora of subtle, DEEP CUT canonical references and Easter eggs--some of which, Moonjumper points out in this video. But there are simply too many to name.

It's not a perfect show, and Moonjumper calls it like it is...the good and the bad. And this is just Part 1.
