Throat: Schlappen or Rooster Saddle, Brown
Wing: Turkey

The Hardy's Favorite is a very handsome fly and fun to tie. The original is a peacock body with red floss rib but sometimes it is tied these days as a red floss body and peacock herl as the rib. The downside to that configuration is there is little protection for the peacock herl and after even one fish it can get broken. I employed a different technique for tying in the turkey wing on this fly. It is a technique that comes in handy for some tiers that might have a difficult time with other methods. - Enjoy
