green forest

A living whole
A forest is a natural environment where a multitude of animal and plant species live. They all need each other, but also the forest, to live. A forest is said to be an ecosystem. There are very strong links between the different elements of an ecosystem. Birds, for example, need trees to build their nests, earthworms aerate the soil to allow tree roots to develop.

A storehouse of wealth
The forest provides a high quality [raw material] for heating or making objects, furniture, houses, etc. Thousands of people work in the forests, and thanks to the forests: loggers, forest guards, carpenters, cabinetmakers...

A place of life
In France or in Europe, the forest is a pleasant space for relaxation and leisure. You can walk there, hide there, pick up mushrooms, observe animals, listen to the sounds of the forest...
In other regions of the world, the forest is a real living space for populations. They build their houses there, use the wood for heating or cooking, hunt forest animals for food...
