In this video, which is the THIRD in our series on this 1959 Guild 66-J guitar amplifier, we will install a choke and change the rectifier tube from a 5Y3 to a GZ34 (5AR4). We'll talk generally about what a choke is and whether it's a benefit to have one in a guitar amplifier. We'll also look at how much a simple change of a rectifier type can affect the voltages inside your amplifier.
