David, former shepherd, grew in spiritual stature through the adversaries he fought. Beginning by conquering a lion and bear, he eventually slew 10,000s of God's enemies in battle. This anointing was imparted to 400 warriors who themselves started out emotionally small in stature, but grew into mighty men of valor.
