MZTV 386 - 03/13/2020: 1 Corinthians 15: The One Creating All is the Same One Raising All

Christ is called "The Firstfruit of those who are reposing" in 1 Corinthians 15:20 and then, later, "Firstborn from among the dead" in Colossians 1:18. The former passage introduces us to the salvation of all humanity, the latter to the salvation of every creature. The Lord Jesus Christ raises and saves every creature from the dead because He is "the Firstborn of every creature" (Colossians 1:15). He holds Himself responsible for the wellbeing of His own creation. This is God's task for Him, that all may be reconciled to Him by the blood of the cross (Colossians 1:20).
