This weekend's Freedom Convoy protest wont be like last

What also remains to be seen is where to next? Both sides of this controversy are in a standoff. I am reminded at that key moment in Boston as the American colonies were growing fed up with their lack of representation in British Parliament while the King ignored their constitutional rights. Samuel Adams was provoking young men to violence to challenge the presence of British soldiers in Boston. Push came to shove, and the soldiers fired on the boys Samuel had incited to riot. The consequences were dire since the soldiers were charged with murder. It was Samuel’s first cousin John Adams who was later to become America’s second President who saved the day when he asserted that the new nation must be based upon the Rule of Law and consequently defended the soldiers in court. As a result of his intervention the Rule of Law was upheld with calmer heads prevailing for the soldiers who had been charged with murder were acquitted.
I pray that in this ever-evolving situation downtown that calmer heads will also prevail. I hope that any provocateurs will be detained and prevented from ruining an otherwise peaceful protest. I also pray for the restoration of our Charter rights so that we may move freely across the provincial borders of this great nation as well as to travel both in and out of Canada at will. The last living signer of Canadian Charter Of Rights & Freedoms, Brian Peckford has filed a lawsuit in Federal Court seeking to strike down the federal government’s mandatory Covid-19 vaccine requirements! Since Mr. Peckford helped to draft that great document which recognizes our inherent liberties his lawsuit will be very difficult for the courts to ignore. We are living in a momentous time in Canadian history where the values which have defined this nation from colonial times are being challenged by our leading psychopaths possessed of a species of hubris that would tear down the foundations of our constitutional parliamentary democracy.
