The Woodcock Quill is another pattern I am tying to donate to the Tie-A-Thon coming up in May (follow the link below for more info). It is a simple soft hackle pattern and I chose it because it uses Woodcock for the hackle. Not many patterns use Woodcock these days but it is an interesting material to work with. I very much enjoyed tying this fly and making a video of it. With the waters warming up around my home I am looking to get this out on some panfish ponds in the coming weeks. If you enjoyed this fly and soft hackles in general, I highly recommend Sylvester Nemes' book mentioned in this video. - Enjoy
