To kick off Black History Month, American Songwriter is partnering with the National Museum of African American Music for a six part docu-series called Rivers of Rhythm. In this premiere episode, historians and Black artists reflect on the impact the early music of Africa has had on our music today. They explore the origins of call and response, improvisation, distortion, instrumental voicing, and oral tradition.

Rivers of Rhythm is presented by Renasant Bank and highlights the work of The National Museum of African American Music.
