So, If one of your top priorities for your wedding reception is to have A KILLER DANCE PARTY, then go out and get yourselves a PRO DJ. On the other hand, if dancing is not a priority and socializing is, then start making that playlist. Fundamentally, a pro DJ will have the right equipment (plus back-up), will have prior knowledge of the venue and most importantly have a finger on the pulse of the guests and pivot seamlessly when needed. D.I.Y DJ should not be a substitute for a pro DJ. Furthermore, D.I.Y DJ shouldn't be used just to save money. More often than not this leads to a complete disaster.
