Ecuadorian umbrella birds have bags not under their eyes, but under their throats.

In the tropics of Colombia and Ecuador, in hot and humid forests, a large black bird with a proud crest on its head roams. This is an Ecuadorian umbrella bird or, in other words, an Ecuadorian golovach. To admire the bird, you have to climb the hill. Ecuadorian golovachi settled at an altitude of over 80 meters above sea level.

Males and females differ in appearance, this is easy to do even for a person who is not particularly versed in ornithology. Males are large and reach 51 cm in length. Nature endowed them with a dandy hairstyle. Feathers grow densely on the head and hang slightly over the beak, like a fashionable bang.

Another sign of the Ecuadorian bighead is a throat pouch covered with short feathers. The male has a sack length of 35 cm. During the mating season, he inflates the sack and seems even larger.
