Algonquin 2021: Wenda Lake Loop (Barron Canyon)

Just when we thought the camping season was winding down, the weather in mid September improved. Rich and I also needed to use up some VAC time, so we decided to book a last minute 2 Day trip from the Achray Access point on Grand Lake. Ryan and I did a 3 day loop in this area back in 2016, spending most of our time east of Grand Lake in the highfalls area. Rich had never been to this area, and we had never been West of Grand Lake in any real capacity. With the prospect of seeing 3 interior cabins, this was the perfect 2 day getaway we needed.

We saw the Stone House, Out-Side-In and Wenda Lake cabins on this trip, and we actually stayed on the campsite located at the Cabin. Due to covid these cabins are not allowed to be rented, or we would have stayed inside.

We also did a little stop at the Tom Thomson "Jack Pine" painting location, and enjoyed all of the rock formations and waterfalls on our way to Wenda.

We returned from Wenda to Grand Lake using the large single portage over the hill, and thoroughly enjoy this loop.

Thanks for watching, and happy paddling!
