Train Smart: Examples of Dynamic Stretches for Shooting
This video accompanies the book Train Smart: Self-Coaching for Practical Shooting by Coach Kita Busse of #180firearmstraining. Dynamic stretches move your joints and muscles through their full range of motion. This prepares your body to move. If you do static stretches before the match, you will lose all the spring in your muscles.
Dynamic stretching is important to help you push off explosively and minimize risk of injury. Here are some examples of dynamic stretching that you can use before practice or a match. The most important stretch for shooters before a competition is the forward/backward and lateral leg swing. This prepares your body to exit positions more explosively.
