In this Michigan steelhead fishing video I am Summer Run Steelhead Fishing. I meant t spend more time Chasing Skamania this summer but got pretty busy with the work schedule and only got out a few times to go after skamania. Michigan steelhead fishing and Michigan trout fishing is among my favorite things but I haven't had a lot of luck catching these summer run steelhead. Being new to targeting skamania I don't mind going 0 for 4 on skams with limited effort this summer. In this video I show off my river trout fishing setup. I have a lot of luck with my float fishing setup for trout and steelhead.

Skamania steelhead is a species of summer-migrating steelhead trout the DNR stocks in Southern Lake Michigan. The fish is named for Washington hatchery where they originate. The DNR stocks the steelhead in the summer and the winter, which provides a nearly year-round fishing opportunity.

The hatchery staff at the Bodine State Fish Hatchery in Mishawaka collects adult Skamania steelhead to be sure the hatcheries have enough eggs for Indiana’s stocking programs.
