Hero and legend Earl "Skip" Gingerich Jr. has done it again. He has partnered with other towns in our area to look into seceding from Erie County. The towns of Grand Island, Wales and Holland are joining his team to look into this option.

The team has extended invitations to other towns in Erie County as well, letting them know they are all welcome to join in their efforts.

The primary reason for this is to protect the residents in their towns. As well as provide their residents the safest, most productive, most effective and most representative service and government they possibly can.

With Erie County, their residents are not receiving anywhere close to the level of service they should be receiving. They aren't benefiting in any way at all from Erie County at this point. And in fact, it is harming them in a lot of ways, including out of control spending, which is resulting in insufferably high property taxes.

Best wishes to this incredible team of visionaries and warriors. We will support them in every way we can. Thank you again to all of them for inspiring people all over this county, state and the country with their poised and incredible leadership.
