King salmon fishing Michigan Rivers is a lot of fun and we had a lot of success fishing for king salmon during the fall salmon run of 2021. Michigan king salmon fishing rivers tend to get pretty congested especially on the weekends so sometimes we opt for fishing at night when there are less people on the river giving better access to better holes while finding fish that are less pressured and more likely to bite as a result. King salmon fishing in Michigan rivers is the stuff of legend and this year in 2021 someone set the new Michigan state record for king salmon weighing in over 50 pounds. We knew the king salmon would be running big this year and we managed to find some good sized ones. Jason managed to catch for master angler size king salmon this fall. That’s for salmon over the 40 inch mark. One was nearly 42 inches. This is why Michigan king salmon fishing is so legendary. I watched a guy get a fishing rod ripped out of his hand when A king salmon bit his lure. That kind of epic fishing in freshwater is a rarity but big Michigan king salmon are capable of such things. That is why so many people enjoy river fishing for king salmon.
