There are three levels to the prophetic:

The Faith Level
Everyone can operate on this level. This is about edifying,
building up, and encouraging others. “For you can all prophesy
one by one, so that all may learn and all be encouraged.” (1
Corinthians 14:31.)

New Testament prophecy is redemptive, not corrective.
It is also God using the thoughts, words or actions of the
speaker to communicate and it is not the literal words of God. “For
we know in part and we prophesy in part.” (1 Corinthians 13:9.)
We will always prophesy in part until Jesus comes again. We do not
elevate prophecy to the same level of scripture, but use scripture
to discern prophecy.

The Gift Level

varieties of service, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of
activities, but it is the same God who empowers them all in
