Disturbing footage appears to show the moment a defenceless fox was savaged to death after being chased into bushes by out-of-control hunt hounds.

Anti-hunt protesters claim they have captured dogs from the Warwickshire Hunt killing British wildlife for the fifth time in just five months.

The latest video released by West Midlands Hunt Saboteurs was filmed in the hamlet of Crimscote, near Straford-upon-Avon, on Saturday (29/1).

It appears to show a pack of around a dozen hounds swarming into bushes along a field and tearing apart the bloody carcass of a fox.

Members of the hunt can be seen trying to block the view of the cameras before one man runs away with the animal's body and drives away on a quad bike.

The shocking footage also captured angry exchanges and grappling breaking out between hunt supporters and the saboteurs.

At one point one woman tells a huntsman on horseback "stop using your horse as a weapon" as tensions boiled over.

She can also be heard shouting "stop touching my boobs" as two men appear to try and stop her filming their activities.

A West Midlands Hunt Saboteurs spokesperson said: "This is the fifth time we have filmed the Warwickshire Hunt killing our wildlife since September.
