Wood Turning: Ponderosa Burl(?)

This week I turned a ponderosa burl....or weird growth...or something. It was so resinous - pine resin (pitch) - that I could not sand the bowl. Fortunately, because of the resin, it did scrape very good and the tool finish wasn't bad.
