More than 2,000 toys meant for homeless children in our community are now gone. The Bakersfield Homeless Center collects toys at the end of each year to give to children at their shelters throughout the next year. They are used to celebrate special events like birthdays or as a reward for good grades. But now everything they had stored for this year is destroyed due to a fire.
