Easy Apple Cinnamon Topping & Filling // Homestead Kitchen

Hi guys; welcome to Cooking With Kimberly!

SUPER excited for this recipe. This has become one of my favorite fall recipes in my homestead kitchen. It's such a simple recipe, it's hard to believe it's (almost) all natural ingredients. Below is the recipe for one serving, although I multiplied it by 8. Highly recommend making multiple batches; it's so delicious that it seems to disappear in 2 days, no matter how much I make. AND it's a fantastic way to use up your extra apples.

Recipe:
1 apple
1 1/2 teaspoons sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 pinch of nutmeg (or 1/16 teaspoon, for the measuring folks)
1 tablespoon raisins
1/4 cup water

Set all ingredients on stove, in covered pot, @ 375 degrees. Allow to cook for 5 - 10 minutes without removing lid. Remove lid, stir, and replace lid. Continue occasionally stirring until apples have reached desired consistency. Remove from heat and allow to cool completely before removing lid.

Enjoy with yogurt, ice cream, waffles, pancakes, or on its' own!
