Jordan's Last Hurrah

Sunday, 1/30/22, Jordan was intrigued by the mini horse we got him as a companion animal. Hence the trotting back and forth. (Oh, the person who called out to him for running was the barn manager. Jordan had EPM, Cushings, and arthritis, and was a little unsteady on his feet. She was worried about him.)

Little did we know that that was his last big run. The next evening, he was drenched with sweat in a cold temperature, fell in his stall, and they could not get him back up. He suffered a seizure and was put out of his misery (humanely, of course).

Even though Jordan was 41 (16.2hh, a Thoroughbred), he had rebounded well from being ill and seemed on the road to full recovery. Sadly, that was not to be.

In the meantime, we had gotten him a mini horse to have as a companion animal. That was his last gift to us - a companion animal to help ease the pain of losing our handsome boy whom we had for 17 years.

We will miss you terribly, Jordo, and will love you always.

Note - the horse on the other side of the fence is Chappy.
