Gender identity has 'no place in schools'

Gender identity has "no place in schools," says Save Women's Sport Australasia's Katherine Deves.

A Brisbane school is requiring parents to sign a contract that states their children will identify as their birth gender or face being excluded from the school.

Citipointe Christian College in Carindale sent out an updated enrolment contract for parents to sign little over a week ahead of students returning to school.

Ms Deves agreed the school had "gone too far" in its response but also said gender identity has no place in schools.

"Leadership really needs to stand up and start listening to the parents who do not want this," Ms Deves told Chris Kenny.
