3.3.f – Unorganized Militia – John 18:36 - *****

The Problem

We The People do not have a culture of participating in militias that defend the Constitution.
Discussion

The foundation of Western Civilization is a belief in a governing model that comes from the Bible. Specifically, the belief that God inspired the Bible and the Bible teaches that God gave Man sovereignty over himself.1

This direct relationship with God of Scripture is how Man relates to God2, but it’s also the foundation for how Man governs himself and interacts with other image bearers of God.3

The Unorganized Militia is something the Founding Fathers expected Americans to always maintain, because it is the basic realization that they used to form their fight for independence. The Second Amendment presupposes the militia pre-existing the government, because Man always retains the God-given right of self-preservation and assembly.

Additionally, the Biblical worldview conveyed a universal notion of the Bible’s standard for justice, law, order, conduct, accountability, and warfare. And so when the Founders wrote the founding documents, they drew upon ideas that shaped Western Civilization, which came from the Bible.

One of those ideas was the belief that because Man was created by God and given rights by God, then Man was governed as a confederacy – that the ultimate standard for behavior, conduct, justice, and lawmaking was to be according to systems that respected every person as equal in the eyes of God.

When, during the course of Western Civilization, totalitarianism consolidated power and decision-making authority, Bible-believers searched the Scripture for ways to advocate for freedom and build beliefs that protected what God gives.4

The US Constitution’s Second Amendment codifies the belief of the Magdebug Confessions and the Revolutionary War, in that, any attempt to consolidate political power to coerce image bearers of God to live in conflict with their consciences or outside the express purpose of legitimate and justified government, then the Constitution provides We The People with the capacity to organize for those times.

The Unorganized Militia is that answer.

Federal law codifies what the Unorganized Militia is and is not.5 Each state, then, further refines what the Unorganized Militia.6

It is critical to understand that the Unorganized Militia does NOT exist to overthrow the US Constitution. The Unorganized Militia exists to DEFEND the US Constitution and secure God-given rights.7 This is important because joining or forming an Unorganized Militia with the intention of overthrowing the government is insurrection, not a justified militia.8

The godless commies are flanking We The People through mass media and information control, government-protected monopolies, and vast armies and legalistic attorneys oriented on restricting rights and freedoms with big words and court constructs. Our answer is not to defend the Constitution with their tactics; they are tailoring what God made with Satan’s tactics. We are to steward what God gave us with truth and simplicity.

The Unorganized Militia is a basic and protected relationship that citizens freely constitute for the specific purpose of defending the US Constitution and securing God-given rights.

I am not a militia leader. What follows are the considerations I’d want if I were to start an Unorganized Militia.
Action Plan

1) Firearm accuracy
There is no substitute for tight shot groups. In the ultimate sense, accuracy with firearms is the only thing that cannot be faked or argued against. This is why the LLFM advocates training accuracy and earning tight shot groups with your firearm. Have a sufficient supply of ammunition – to defend your home or to secure the rights in a given situation.9

2) Avoid bad leadership
Leadership is an action verb. The best leaders are humble. I would avoid any organization that is overly militaristic and communicating bravado. The Unorganized Militia is comprised of volunteers and civilians – not professionals. The basic purpose is defending the US Constitution and securing rights. We are not storming the beaches of Normandy nor are we assaulting a large complex for an assassination of a political target. We are organizing to constitute lethal force as a guarantor of God-given rights. Leaders need to understand those parameters. Your participation is voluntary and should not be seen as joining a highly-trained group of elite killers. You are grouping with like-minded citizens to manifest combat power in the extreme situations when government is unable, irrelevant, neglectful, or an enemy to the US Constitution and securing God-given rights.

3) Sheriff
The sheriff is the chief law enforcement officer. His duty is defending the US Constitution in the county. If you’ve conducted your SheriffStrategy10, then he should be amenable to helping coordinate and organize an Unorganized Militia. The Unorganized Militia is not under his authority or his command. It is led by We The People. Having said that, a sheriff that resists the SheriffStrategy and a targeted Bond Maneuver11, is a sheriff that needs to be ousted in his next election and not someone who should be involved with the Unorganized Militia.

4) Training
Train like you fight. If you join or form an unorganized militia, but then never train, then your efforts are worthless. This is not a call tree of available and willing people who want to carry firearms against tyranny; this is a legitimate effort to use force to stop injuries to society and to defend rights. There’s incredible literature out there on this, but for starters, I’d go with the US Army’s FM 3-21.8: Infantry Rifle Platoon and Squad. Basics.

5) Secure missions
The unorganized militia’s purpose is defensive - never offensive. Because of this, the tactical task most likely done is a secure mission. Learn how to strongpoint. Learn crowd control. Learn fire team maneuver. Learn fire control measures.12
Where you may get stuck

1) Timing13
Many people will ask the question, “How do I know when the right time to act is?” This question is asked by someone who isn’t ready to act. If you’ve done the work, trained, developed discipline, coordinated with other citizens and your local law enforcement, then when the US Constitution needs defending or when God-given rights are violated, then you will know when the right time to act is.14

2) Punishment
It is my belief that the information in this LLFM will be misunderstood and twisted to make me or you look like an enemy to the United States of America. The opposite is the case. This LLFM exists as a way to prevent violence and to organize for peace and self-sufficiency. I do not want people to overthrow the government and have no intention to do so; at the same time, doing the things in this LLFM will likely be targeted and perverted by entities and people with contrarian agendas to the US Constitution and the securing of God-given rights. Understand that. This knowledge naturally makes you a liability for evil and plans to destroy the US Constitution.
