Davinci Resolve - GPU Memory Full - solved

I had the "GPU Memory Full" error message plenty of times whenever I did something within Resolve that consumed some computing power. When trying to solve these issues, it is important to find the cause and make sure you are not trying to get around symptoms only. I could find the cause and solve it in conjunction with the support of Blackmagic.

05:00 How to completely remove a driver and re-install

The cause was a driver issue, despite the fact I kept it updated alle the time and the issues was occuring with several different driver versions.

My system: Windows 10, Intel i5, Nvidia 1060 with 6 Gbyte of RAM

You have to completly remove the driver using a software called DDU: https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html

Make sure you run Windows 10 in safe mode and deconnect all Internet connections until the driver was re-installed. Download the studio driver BEFORE you uninstall it, because you will not have the Internet connected during uninstall. When downloading the driver make sure it is the correct one. NVIDIA has got notebook and other versions etc. Make sure to use the "studio" driver version and not the "gameready" version.

I installed the studio driver only without GeForce experience. I did not test if GeForce experience has got any negative effect, this is just what I did.
