Bogus Basin Ski Resort ~ Time To Slow Things Down

What I mean by that is the skiing has been so good that I have put off just concentrating on 'technique and fundamentals'. Today was an awesome day to do just that. Focusing on body position, getting on my skis, pressure on my boots and hands.

Taking things down to about 75% really makes a difference. The best part is after doing that on groomers or a bumper run I could already tell there was a difference in my skiing.

Basically didn't use my poles at all in the traditional sense. Why? Because you don't need poles to ski. Glenn Plake has an awesome quote that is 100% accurate.

Simply stated. Technique doesn't change much whether you're skiing bumps or groomers.

"It’s not that you can’t ski bumps. You can’t ski. Bumps prove it."

"What is a big deal is mogul skiing. You don’t buy it. You don’t fake it. It’s real. It’s alive, and if you wanna find the best skiers on the mountain, you might want to take a good hard look at who’s skiing the bumps."
