Dun Laoghaire is located 9 km to the South of Dublin. It was built as a major port in 1816 and in 1821 after the visit of King George IV it was renamed to Kingstown in the honour of King George. The current name Dun Leoghaire was given in 1920. In modern times, Dun Laoghaire is a residential area, a place for recreation, water sports, fishing, and it is a nice place to walk around and enjoy the views towards Dalkey, Killiney Hill and the Harbour.

Note: At 6:00 I am talking about the fountain in Dun Laoghaire, which was built to commemorate the visit of Queen Victoria. Her last visit to Ireland was in 1900, not in 1900s because she passed away in January 1901. In fact, Queen Victoria visited Dun Laoghaire in 1861 together with her husband and I think the fountain was meant to commemorate that particular visit and not the last time she came to Ireland. Anyway, sorry for not being completely accurate, I wish I saw it on time to be able to edit it.
