Talking with Trinidadian Author David Kalloo

Join Brook for a discussion with David Kalloo about life in Trinidad and Tobago, Moving to the UK and his career as a Caribbean author. We had some technical issues at the end. We will continue the conversation in another episode.

David Kalloo was born in Port of Spain, Trinidad. He migrated to London in 1989 and in 2008 he attained a BA (Hons) in Caribbean Studies and Media Studies at London Metropolitan University. He has served as Secretary for the World Carnival Commission and as a judge with the London Notting Carnival, Hackney One Carnival. He is also the founder of Culturepulse an online magazine connecting the diaspora.

In 2018 David completed a Masters in International Relations and has since served on the Board of Steel Pan Trust charity, the Trinidad and Tobago Association (UK) and as Communications Adviser with the FHALMA foundation. He has been the Media Manager for the Notting Hill Carnival Pioneers Festival since 2017. Green Mango Chow is his debut novel and his second book, Jumbie in Town is out now.
