They wanted to see Jesus, they wanted to see Jesus. Do you and I really want to see Jesus or we just want to talk about it and get the information but not really to see him? Well, some wonderful things up in here. In verse 27:
[John 12:27] [He said] now is my soul troubled and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour: [colon in your bibles right? No. It's a question. A question. Father save me from this hour?] but for this cause came I unto this [what?] hour.
Why save him from it? And he came for it, right? That's right. You see how this ties in with the "my God my God why hast thou forsaken me?" (For twenty thousand years) Huh? No. My God my God why hast thou spared me? Remember? What did this verse say? For this cause came I unto this what? [Hour.] That's why when he was dying upon the cross he was dying there for a purpose. That's the cause he came for and he never cried "my God my God why hath thou forsaken me?" like King James says. No. The cry from the cross as I teach you all from the original text, read it to you in the foundational class, showed it to you, that you can't miss it. Nobody ever misses it: is that when he was dying upon the cross he said: "my God my God for this purpose was I what? [Spared.] And the next word from the cross was it is what? [Finished.] What was finished? [Man's redemption.] Right, man's redemption. Everything that Christ Jesus came to do was finished. Finished. Finished. Save me from this hour? No. For this purpose, for this cause yet I come. This is my reason for being here. This is the climax of the ministry that I have been called too. Sure bless your heart.
Then there was a voice from heaven. Verse 29 The people therefore, that stood by, and heard it, and said that it [what?] thundered: others said, an angel spake unto him.
And that's just exactly the response you get to the ministry today. If you really start teaching the Word of God somebody will say: 'well he's firing his thunder, or something. He's just, it's just thunder, thunder, thunder. That's all. Just a bunch of hot air. Just a bunch of bologna.' That's exactly the reaction they have then. You see human nature never, it's never amounted to anything, never will amount to anything. It has never changed since the third chapter of Genesis even to this day. Human nature. It's just a bunch of bologna to begin with. And the things you will find in here you can read in other chapters as to the response to the Word of God. Whenever the Word of God is preached or taught; set before people accurately. You will always have three responses. Always there will always be some who believe. And there will be a third group who will say 'well we'll think about it.' The third group logically joins the second because you can never be in the middle on anything. You are either against or you are for. It's either yes or no. No maybe. Sure, let's say you wanted to take a train from here to New York. So you stand out here at the depot you have your ticket in hand. And you say to yourself 'well I don't know if I want to go to New York or not. I bought the ticket but I don't know if I want to go or not.' The train comes in, the conductor comes out and he says "All aboard!" And the train pulls out and you're standing there. And you say 'well I don't know if I want to go or not.' Yes you do. You made up your mind to one thing: you're not going. Because you had your ticket you could have gone. By the simple "maybe type" of thing you indicate no. So technically there are only two answers or two responses to the Word of God class; either yes or no. But in the bible it indicates always three. Some believe, some disbelieve and others said we will hear thee again. Here, this group of people, when they heard this tremendous thing that was going on said it thundered. Others said what? An angel spoke to him.
