Attila Domos Handcycling in the 2015 DIRTY DOZEN

I rode my handcycle in the 2015 Dirty Dozen. This would have been an unbelievably brutal ride under ideal conditions, but on this day of November 28th, 2015, it rained the whole day. I didn't have much traction for much of the race, but I ended up finishing 7 of the official DD hills, and an 8th one (Greenfield Ave.) on my way home.

I made a fundraiser out of my ride to raise money for "Project R.U.N.", which helps disadvantaged inner city kids in Pittsburgh learn about nutrition, gets them shoes and other things they need to exercise and live a healthy lifestyle. I asked people to donate $1 for each hill I complete, and an extra bonus if I finish 7. If you'd like to help this charity, here's the link: https://www.crowdrise.com/KOSprojectr...

I managed to finish half of the hills completely unassisted, even with these awful conditions, but needed support on 4 of them. You'll see how Bryan pushed down on my cycle, to provide some weight in the front.

This was incredibly difficult, but also a fantastic experience and lesson. I now know what I need to do differently to be able to complete all 13 hills next year.
