Romans 8:13b but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

You don't put the body; you don't put the deeds of the body to death. You just put them to death by reckoning them dead. I want to tell you something, they are not going to be dead you just wrecking them dead. This is like you just reckon them dead, understand? The moment they show up their ugly head, you reckon them dead. They're not going to be dead. They're going to keep bouncing up; but you reckon them as dead.

[Romans 8:14] for as many as are led by the Spirit of God. they are [what?] the sons of God.

[15] For ye have not received [a bondage spirit is the text] again unto fear; but ye have received [a sonship spirit] whereby we cry Abba, Father.

[16] [And it is this sonship spirit which] itself beareth witness with our spirit [the spirit] that we are the children of [whom?] God.

It's the spirit bearing witness with our spirit that we are the children of God. It is God's spirit in you. When you speak in tongues, which is the only external manifestation you have of the internal reality and presence of His holy spirit. Pronto! This manifestation, this evidence, is the spirit bearing witness with your spirit, with you. His spirit bearing witness with you that you are a what? Son of God, a child of God. Without that witness, without that witness you have no evidence in the senses world that you are a son of God. You know why? Because you can quit eating cookies when you get saved and that doesn't prove you're christian at all. Because somebody else might quit eating cookies who isn't saved at all. Or you can give up your chewing tobacco girls, it won't count. You can't give up snuff? I know some women choose snuff. You know women who choose not. It doesn't cut ice with God or anybody.

Well, that won't give any proof you're christian. You can quit eating meat on Saturday or Friday. Eat fish on Friday, then you're christian. No, no proof. It's something; it's the spirit that beareth witness with our spirit that we are children, or sons, of God. And if children, if we're children, if we're children then what proof do you have that you're a child? Your spirit. Bearing witness with your spirit. That's the proof. This is why speaking in tongues is the greatest thing you've got; not only to give you a knowledge that you're a child of God; but to keep building you up on the inside. This is what the Word says. Now you say to me "I can't feel it." Well, sure you can't feel it. If you could feel it it wouldn't be spirit.

Then how do I know it's happening? Because, first of all: the Word says so. And secondly: I have the manifestation and evidence that the Word talks about. Therefore it has to happen, understand?

[17] And if [we're] children, then [we have the proof that we are what? heirs]; heirs of God, and [we are] joint heirs with [who?] Christ.
