CDC Changes Language on Boosters, Encourages Public to Stay ‘Up to Date’ Instead of ‘Fully Vaccinated’

Here comes the “Up To Date” pivot!

On January 21, 2022 the head of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Rochelle Walensky, explains how the agency is pivoting away from encouraging everyone to be “fully vaccinated” and instead is asking them to be “up to date” on their shots.

“So importantly, right now, we are pivoting our language — we will want to make sure people are up to date. That means: if you recently got your second dose, you’re not eligible for a booster; you’re up to date. If you are eligible for a booster and you haven’t gotten it, YOU’RE NOT UP TO DATE and you need to get your booster in order to be up to date.”
